RAAF Deaths WW2 1939-1945

I am transposing all deaths during this period for the 10,835 RAAF personal who died from all causes.

All of this information has been gathered from either the Commonwealth War Grave Commmission site, or the "Roll of Honour" & "Nominal Roll" databases on the Australian Government sites.

These sites provide this information singularly or with the CWGC 15 at a time however it doesn't supply the posting on death which have to be keyed in one at a time.

When finished, the spreadsheet will be able to be sorted Alphabetically and Numerically for a multitude of statistical information requirements.
eg: Age percentages, death by rank percentages, deaths occurring on particular days and/or theatre or place etc.

I have completed about 10% (Cemeteries "A-C") and will endeavour to have the remainder completed by years end and update this thread as it is available.

I have set them out by:

NAME
RANK
SERVICE NUMBER
POSTING ON DEATH
DATE OF DEATH
AGE
GRAVE/MEMORIAL REFERENCE
CEMETERY/MEMORIAL NAME
COUNTRY OF CEMETERY
LOCALITY OF CEMETERY
PHOTO AND/OR DESCRIPTION LINK

My Avatar is the memorial to the 22 Commonwealth Coastwatchers at the Temakin Cemetery on Betio (Tarawa Atoll) who were beheaded by the Japanese on 15th October 1942. http://www.dva.gov.au/media/publicat...mem_beito.html

"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

What did the Australians do in ww2 and other conflicts? Check out this site:
