Glyn Powell has been beavering away on the Mossie fuselage moulds etc since the 70s, IIRC. He was doing the work for himself but as he's progressed, more people have found out about him and now his dedication will be responsible for, I reckon, returning the next Mossie to the skies. Keeping history alive.
The Merlins shouldn't be too hard in the great scheme of things, the guys working on the Mossie have a lot of experience with them. Usually a restoration/rebuild such as this will have a core aircraft/wreck to build from so I imagine most of the metal "bits" will be originals/NOS etc or can be used as patterns. The really hard work was the moulds.
Kyt might be able to answer this. Mossies weren't as popular in Burma because the humidity and weather played havoc with the wooden "sandwich"?
