Hi Owen - that's the church in the tiny village of Rubercy, a few miles inland from Omaha and not far from where I was staying. We passed that view almost every day, and stopped for a pic-nic there one day, which is when I took the photo. I thought it was a typical Normandy scene - and yes, you can picture some very different scenes there in '44.

Ferrell was 7th Bn and killed in the attack at Cahagnes in Op Bluecoat.
