U'll be surprized but at my opinion USSR has won the war by several reasons - and not a last was that we have very big population, so having such count of soldiers often made generals and commanders not to count how much of them will die in operation. This reason showed itself in operation assault of Berlin, when Zhukov following Stalin order tried to capture it before USA soever. No matter how many will die. Offcourse (!) soviet commanders learned alot during a war, but it must be noticed that not everyone started war like master of commandment

I think there must be very flexible opinion - in some operations Red Army was a rabble just overwhelming germans with count not by a skills of commander

, in some - it was a genius plans and very good scenarios

and also great numbers of soldiers
