This was perhaps the most serious Sunderland crash in Co. Donegal which occurred on the 14 March 1945 at 02:15 hrs in the morning. All the crew perished when the aircraft hit Crownard just above Killybegs over looking Donegal Bay at 1,700 feet outward bound on an anti-submarine patrol.
