I cetainly thought that this was appalling when I read the book. A word of caution, the author says read his book in its entirety or not at all, for he would like the reader to know all that he discovered in order to make up their own minds.
For me the question of the use of these tatttooed numbers and the prepared lists of names which the Nazis used, was a real eye-opener - I had just never questioned it before.
