Having now been there I can post some photos of Red Poppies at Monte Cassino.
At the garden center yesterday I saw a Clematis called "Polish Spirit" i bought one and it is now growing in my garden.

I have just seen there is also a Clematis called "Monte Cassino".
Clematis 'Monte Casino'
I think I'll have to get at least one in my garden.

This one was taken down by Albaneta Farm, where the Poles were fighting.
