These movements about the camps are quite normal. Having reviewed many liberation questionaires the same route is followed by many so there must have been reason to the madness.
David's Father's return to SL 3 is explained by the commission but this was not always the case.
My Father went from Dulag Luft to Stalag IXc to SL 3 to SL 6 to Stalag 357 Thorn and then the short move to Stalag 357 Fallenbostal over a four year period. The movement dates are very similar, only out by a couple of days which could be down to memory or just in the telling.
They all had their YMCA logs but on the various marches, with disentry the norm., keeping them intact would have been difficuly.
