Hello every all

What ho you types. I don't very often come to forums because I usually end up annoying people, but I will give this one all my best manners PROMISE.

I'm 56 and yes a babbyboomer. I came rather late in life to appreciate the huge sacrifice that was made for us all between 1939 and 1945. I am here to learn and to share and along the way, do my bit to ensure that subsequent generations never forget what happened and why. Despite what has been said about every conflict since. WW2 was the last time we have gone to war on this planet over a truly evil regime.

My key interests are The Spitfire and the aircraft of the war. However, I am an actor and a writer too. I have been engaged for the past few years on two huge projects. 1 a television historical drama series called "A Midlands Town" This is a huge project involving the stories from 1,000s of witnesses in the largely unknown story of The Blitz on Birmingham. Birmingham was the first City to be directly targeted by the Luftwaffe in the war and yet it's story still remains obscured because of the strategic industrial D notice placed on the City by Churchill. I'm happy to talk about this work if anyone is interested.

The second of My projects is something of a spin off from the first. We are also working hard to tell the story of Birmingham's foremost adopted Son. None other than my much missed late pal Alex Henshaw. Alex was chief test pilot at Castle Bromwich Aircraft factory in Erdington Birmingham. Before the war though he was a prolific air racer and still posthumously holds the longest outstanding air record on the Planet. The fantastic Cape Dash of February 1939 is the major focus of the feature film XF, The Flight Of The Mew Gull.

I look forward to swapping and sharing info.

Spitbloke over and out
