I'm surprised that no one followed up on this. To my untrained eye it appears they are 2 aircraft, as in the bottom photo there seems to be more of the fuselage and the tail letter appears to be an L or an E. In the top photo, the fuselage looks to have been burnt away right to the tail assembly. The Bomb Group letter is clearly an A (however the aircraft number could be 297083 as in the other photo and the O could also be a Q. The ground looks to be tidal in the lower but clearly fields in the top.
Anyone got info on when 297083 was lost and if the photos are of the same aircraft?
