About twenty five years ago my wife, born and bred in Portsmouth, as was I, developed an interest in Helen Duncan. To the extent that she was prepared to write some form of dissertation type paper based on the woman.
However, the more she scratched the surface, the more patently , if not down right ridiculously, farcical the whole thing started looking.
Wifey had approached some sort of " HD Society " and, at first, her interest had been warmly welcomed. But, the moment she started
questioning the whole affair ....!
Check out any of the old photo's of Duncan in action. Tell me; Is that " Ectoplasm " or a Bandage?!
Now, if ye want " 'Real' Witchcraft " mixed into ye WW2? Look no further than Gerald B. Gardner and the purported shinanigans of the " New Forest Coven ".
More total carp, of course. But it'll add another string to ye bows of WW2 knowledge
