Good question Jimbo!!!! P.S. If I am not right (and I think that I wont) can you tell me if my line of reasoning is on the right track?

No but that too was a clever answer and your line of reasoning is spot on.

Another excellent answer (I didn't realize there were so many), but not the correct one.

Ah Reverend Bob,

Mr Doolittle retired from the army as a Lt and a reservist, was brought back in as a Major, promoted to Lt Colonel, promoted to Brigadier General skipping the rank of Full Colonel causing much angst to the Army Regulars, and just happened to be an aviator who flew one single mission in the Pacific. That's sounds like a decent answer, what do you say Mr Spidge? What do you think of the good Reverend's answer?
