For your information, Chorley is wrong regarding the night fighter pilot that shot down EH889.
Oblt. Lothar Linke, IV./NJGI was actually lost in action some months before EH889. The most likely pilot is Heinz Vinke who, according to the German records was the only pilot to claim a victory at that time and position. He also claimed it as a Sterling. The similarity in names is probably the reason for the mistake in Chorley.
Heinz Vinke (54 victories) was lost in the channel in 1944, shot down by a Typhoon.
