Fascinating stuff... That really happened...the Indonesians, under Sukarno, revolted against the Dutch returning to the East Indies. The British and Dutch did not have enough troops to maintain order, so they kept the Japanese forces under arms and used them against the rebels.
Ironically, some of the rebels had started off supporting the Japanese against the Dutch in the first place. Now they fought with their former patrons. Weird.
