(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It was OK, felt they talked up the Aussies and played down the Brits. I felt the bit in the bar where the Tommies gave the Aussies a round of applause and a cheers was a bit unbelievable, more likely to have a punch up. ![]() Thought the bit where they shot the escaping Turks good, showed they wouldn't always "play the game" but kill the enemy whenever they could. |

![]() | I'm a bit late posting here but I've just found this thread. I was delighted with the coverage given to all the ANZAC Day events on the Australia channel. I watched the lot. Far cry from when I started going to Dawn Service. When there was me and a handful of Diggers and a trumpeter. Now there are prayers and a big screen. I was delighted to attend Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass a couple of years ago. Rather spooky place IMO. |
