people see the typhoon as just a rocket and cannon firing ground attack aircraft, but fail to remember it flying all over northern europe shooting up german aircraft,in the air,and on the ground .it was a good dogfighter in its own right.so i,ll go for the tiff.

The Best Allied Plane Of WW2

Hello!

The B-24 J and H were the best bombers (though the b-17 could definitely take a pounding); the p-47 D was the best fighter-bomber; and either the P-51 D or the P-38 J was the best fighter of the late war, though I lean toward the P-38 J.

For the early war, the Hurricaine and the Typhoon were excellent all-around aircraft, and both severely underrated aircraft!!

I hope you don't think this is cheating. It is really hard to narrow it down to one particular aircraft.

I must confess that my favourite allied plane is a 3 way tie that I cant seperate

F-4U Corsair
Hawker Typhoon
P-47 Thunderbolt

All beautiful aircraft (yes even the jug!)
