The SS

My Grandfather was in the SS he never said much about them sept he wants me to become one : ( HMMMMMMM.

Any way I was wondering if SS meant any think?

Just in case you're not trolling and this is a genuine question, "SS" means Schutzstaffel ("protection squad"). But I'm sure that your Großvater could have told you that!!!

The SS was essentily ( sorry spelling) at the start bodyguards for hitler from the SA too many abbreviations in the army

SS are elite division, right? I confuse about something. As far as I know, recruitment for the SS regiment are very strict. There's many requirement needed to become SS soldier. That's why they called them self elite. And they are very fanatic in Nazi ideology. At first I thought Hitler want to keep the purity of this elite to represent the aryan superior race but why later in the war, they recruit people from another race and another country?
