438 1 January 1976 - Middle East Airlines Flight 438 MEA 438 was a Boeing 720 en route from Beirut, Lebanon, to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. While flying over northeastern Saudi Arabia at 37,000 ft (11,275 m) a bomb detonated in the forward baggage hold. The plane broke up and the crash killed all 81 people aboard. The identity of the bombers has never been determined.
