"You were given the choice between war and dishonor.
You chose dishonor and you will have war."

(Winston Churchill made this prophetic pronouncement in a House of Commons speech in 1938, just after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich agreement with Hitler. Chamberlain returned from Germany with the signed agreement in hand, proclaiming that "peace in our time" had been achieved. Churchill attacked Chamberlain's "politics of appeasement" in this and many other speeches.)

Here's one I found in the loft of when mollusc and I were in Berlin back in Feb '92.
I'd just bought Russian tank commanders helmet from a chap under the Brandenburg Gate. Yes, I know I look gormless.

PS In T34 photo not only am I wearing a Soviet tank-crew helmet but the coat is Canadian Forces surplus, $20 Cdn from Vancouver in 1991.

he worked for BAS as a scientist and station commander for 20 years, but now he owns 1 company and co-owns another (with 3 other people)

1, Poles Apart works for govenments on enviromental stuff and takes filmers down to Antartic and up to Arctic and deals in all extreame weather.

His other joint owned company flies people into Antartica for adventure trips, climbing Vinson Massif, walking the last Degree to the pole, flying to the pole etc.
