Sorry to be pedantic but I just wanted to highlight a often forgotten fact that between 1500 and1700 died at Gallipoli too.

More French soldiers died at Gallipoli than ANZAC, but that said few people remember Gallipoli with the passion that our Australian and New Zealand friends do. That is very evident on the battlefields even today.

Not WW2 either but that wierd 900x700 metre Chinese 'training model' can be seen here.
(link will open Google earth and take you straight there, don't click if you can't be bothered )

Apparently it perfectly represents an area on the border with India, as discussed here
