Well - to start with - your units are slightly confused as the 6th batt Royal West Kents - belong in the 36th Bde -along with the Buffs and the Agile an Sufferin Highlanders - but the 5th Northants were in the 11th bde - the 56th Recce belong in 56th Div who were no where near there.....but it was the 36th Bde of the 78th Inf Div which attacked the Tebarka / Djebel Abiod area - this bde was also known as the "fire fighters" as they seemed to pop up where he fighting was at it's fiercest - and all the way through Italy this was the same - so I should look up the diaries of the 36th Bde for more info .
Cheers

56 was there Tom... Regimental commander was Major Hart. The force that advanced on Dj Abiod was also known as Hart Force... (at least one Squadron took part in the fighting)

Quite right on 56th RECCE - the Recce for 56th Div - around Wadi Akirit at that time was the 44th Recce - get carried away with numbers these days - it was however 36th Bde who did most of the fighting in the Battle.

OK.....I'm half interested in Tunisia and the 1st Para Brigade out there, but like you never been.....however as a family we are off to Sousse next month but not ssure what BFT on your own is like out there!

I have a few good IWM photos from Tunisia and it would be good to try and match them up!
