![]() | The maps do not seem to mention 150 Brigade which fought until its position was finally overrun on 2 June 1942. Rommel himself led the final assault and praised the bravery of the British infantry. In my Dad's sector they had long run out of water, having fought in the Desert heat for some six days, and after firing off the last ammo fixed bayonets and charged at the German 90th Light. If the donkeys had reinforced the Brigades position in time, and not abandoned it to its fate, Rommel would not have been able to resupply his Panzer Divisions with fuel who had swung south around Bir Hacheim and north to attack the British armour. |
