From Delhi to Arnhem

Briefly got my hands on the final proof copy of the long awaited book by John O'Reilly on the 156 Parachute Battalion at the weekend......

It's the size of an 'After the Battle' book about 400 pages and weighs around 2 kgs.....it looks good and is a well produced publication...plenty of photos and coloured maps.....

The bad news is it will be £35 pus £7 postage from Mr O'Reilly in the UK...it's not really on the internet bookshops yet but my suggestion would be to order it via amazon or WH Smith if in the UK as they don't charge postage (especially if you pick it up from a WH Smith shop) and for all I know may offer it at less than £35........

Hi AM,

I've had some information on this book for a good few years, judging by that it's well worth adding to any Arnhem collection more so that it was wrote by John..

Cheers

Tom,
It was first advertised in 2004...and as you allude to John's father was in the unit in 1944.....

Question

Has Harry Bankhead and Jeffrey Powell contributed to the book? I can never think of 151/156 Battalion without those two popping into my mind.

Thumbs up

Just this minute ordered it. It's a while since I bought an Arnhem book so I'm looking forward to getting it!

The ISBN is 978-0-9560444-0-2...430 pages about 350 photos weighs 2.2 kgs.

I now have a copy and it's in the format/style of an after the battle book.....

I've found it most interesting and I may have a few copies for sale at a discount.....watch this space...

Another place to go is Welcome to "From Delhi To Arnhem"
