Britain at War magazine

I have just bought a copy of a NEW magazine. Britain at War magazine, Issue 1 (May 2007). I recommend it very highly. It is very glossy with lots of pictures, 96 pages long. Also avaliable online http://www.britain-at-war-magazine.com

The first issue has articles on Britains AA guns shrapnel causing as much damage as the German bombs.

Dieppe raid

WW1 battlefield salvage

Datafile: all of 15 pages on the Home Guard's Northover Projector with lots of information and pictures.

Private Johnson Beharry VC

FW 190's in Britain

and, as they say, lots. lots more. A very good read for £3.50. I got mine from WH Smith.
I might subscribe.

Kyt tells me it's well worth getting as well, might have to keep an eye out for that.

It's true about the self-inflicted casualties; when 1/KG30 raided the Firth of Forth on 16/10/39, all the ground damage was done by stray AA shells or M/G fire from the Spitfires!
Looks a good mag. btw

Got a copy today, does indeed seem rather good.
Reckon they must follow the internet forums quite a bit if the 'briefing room' (news) section is anything to go by.

Only slightly marred by the prescence of a small picture of a certain Mr Reed, he's publicity crazy I tell you!

Cheers,
Adam

Kyt is a bit shady
This magazine really goes from strength to strength. Just reading issue 3 and it's excellent.

VP, you'll like next month's - there's an article about a Churchill rescue project.

Thumbs down

Just recieved notification in the mail that Britain at War magazine is to cease publication with immediate effect, after only 12 issues.
Pity really, I enjoyed reading them.
