Just received the BoB: Then & Now. Looks very impressive (including a BIG dent in my wallet) and I'm going to enjoy reading it (it's been bumped up on my 'to-read' list to next).

But I need advice on logistics.........the bloody thing weighs nearly 3 kg!! That book could do some serious damage if I'm not careful.

Reading the sodding things in bed is a nightmare, I live in fear that Blitzkrieg in the West is going to collapse my ribs.

On wallet denting: 137 issues of the magazine @ £3.95 = £541.15... I fear this may take a decade of scouring book stalls, last few issues I found were 20p each.

That's quite tempting Andy but I'm not sure if I want to lock myself into any deals ... I spend far too much on books anyway, I'm sure most others on here know the feeling.

Though having said that if they go to Beltring I could conceivably be waving a ton at them and seeing what sort of deal could be struck.

Bod & I bought a complete set each of ATB's 'Wheels & Tracks' magazine a while back & it's taught us more about vehicles than any other source. I suspect the main magazine could have a similar effect for history of the war in general.

Cheers,
Adam.

Sod your foot, was the book ok??????

Dustjackets annoy me, one mate just throws them in the bin as soon as he gets a book home.

Of course the book was OK - the reason I hurt my foot was because I'd stuck it out to break the fall (forgetting the implications of such a rash move!)

I normally remove the jackets and put them safe until I've finished reading the book. Keep them though because they add a premium if ever I should need to sell my books (like a urgent kidney transplant or more serious)

Just wondering...
Anyone seen any complete or near complete sets of the magazine for sale recently?

A bad thought occurred... so I just thought I'd ask.
Owen tells me I should finish the books I've got before buying more; he's probably right.
