I don't know why I haven't mentioned this site before, but it worth a look. It may have been posted here before and I've just not seen it.

Within 5 minutes of Jeff putting this up on WW2F I'd got myself a Pantherfibel, several early Armour related books and a copy of 'Regimental Nicknames & Traditions of the British Army'.
It really is very good indeed, and can hopefully only improve as the copyright cut-off rolls forward.

Thanks for the link, I've already recommended the site to other friends.

I was particularly pleased to have a look at an old favourite of mine, namely "The 39 Steps" with Robert Donat. This has been re-made a few times but never, in my opinion, inproved on.

I was "Called-up" in Oct 1942
Served as a Wireless-Op with the 49th LAA (78 Div) from Apr 1943 to Dec 1944 (North Africa,Sicily,Italy, Egypt).
The Regiment was disbanded in Dec 1944 and I was retrained (in Italy) by the Royal Armoured Corps.
Served as a Loader-Op with the 4th QOH from Mar 1945 to Jan 1946 (Italy, Austria, Germany)
Finished up as Tech Cpl for "A" Sqdrn.

I was "De-mobbed" in Apr 1947
