Just an additional note - it's the biography written by David Irving

some of Irving's earlier books can be worth looking at - not all of his books were revisionist - I believe Morse has read his works more widely than I have - but some of them can be valuable.

Didn't mean that - just additional info because it takes a while to load (500+ pages)

Rommel book's not bad, and before anyone starts throwing things and getting all frothed up I'm referring to this one book, not the man's entire lifetime output, most of which is available free on the web. Read it, decide for yourself, don't blame me .
I never know how people read complete e-books unless they really have to, I just can't read that much off the screen, books smell better too.

Agreed.
Rather have a book in my hand than stare at a monitor for too long.

Exclamation I'd be careful with the Rommel book...

I read it before I knew that David Irving was a junior fascist, and it bothered me. He went out of his way to rip British generalship (which was justified) and to trash the guys who plotted against Hitler's life (which was unjustified). It was clear Irving had no use for the plot against Hitler. When I saw his later books and statements, I saw why.

Since then, with the Lipstadt trial and the reports prepared on Irving by the expert witnesses, I have learned that Irving's idea of research is to bend facts to fit his pro-Nazi thesis, invent reactions and events to fit his pro-Nazi thesis, and to interview people to firt his pro-Nazi thesis. His life of Hitler was drawn from interviewing Der Fuehrer's cooks, maids, and butler. Good sources on Hitler's diet, hygiene, and daily life, but not sober or objective analysis of his politics and world-view. These clowns still worshipped Adolf 15, 20, 30, and 40 years after the fact, and had a vested interest in making their former employer look good, even if he couldn't provide them with a job reference any more.

And if you look at the rest of Focal Point Press, Irving's publishing house/website, you'll see that it's mostly a shrine to his ego and impotent raging against his assorted enemies. The man sickens me.
