Tank battles during the retreat from Burma

Were there any tank battles during the retreat from Burma in 42? If there were, did Allied forces use american or british tanks? What kind of material were they up against? Type 95īs only? Just recently I read about a couple of RTRīs and some Hussars units involved, but didnīt find info on the kind of hardware they used.

Engagements fought by the 7th Armoured Brigade in 1942

Used M3 Stuarts.

There is an excellent description of a tankmans experience of one firefight during the reteat in The Long retreat by James Lunt I think, whereby the tank commander gives a heartstopping account of his tank being hit and how he rescured a crew member. Indeed an M3 Stuart of the 7th armoured.

Hello, Warlord. I'm new to this forum, but I have family in Guatemala City. I also knew a man who served in Burma, although he was ground support for the pilots and planes that flew "the Hump". I know relatively little about this theatre, other than it must have been ghastly awful given the distances to travel/fight, the distance from hope, the extended supply lines, weather, jungle...etc.

Historybuff, old chap, are you Guatemalan?

I mean, where do your people live in this good olīcity of mine? Itīs not that big, you know...

Boy, I love ABDA and the CBI and everything that goes with them, from Kota Bahru to the comeback to Raffles Square, surrender in China included.

Hello, Warlord:
No, I'm not Guatemalan, but my wife is. Her family (2 brothers and a sister) all live in Zona 2, and another sister lives near Villa Hermosa, I believe. I absolutely love that country, from what I've seen of it.
Not sure if I'll retire there...my wife actually tolerates the winters here in Canada. She's been here 18 years now.

Which area are you in?

Your quote -- is that from the Kaibil? They are a formidable group of nasty boys.
