Can anyone help with my research on the movements of my uncle Ray (who I am named after) and 9th Bn. Royal Sussex Regiment?

All I know is that he fought and died in Burma.

Extra details can be found here.

Thanks

Ray

Have you tried the Royal Sussex Regiment museum?

Just tried the website you recommended. There is a contact address, and apparently there is quite an extensive archive, including regimental diaries. I'll follow this up and let you know how I get on, but I think it may take a little longer than I anticipated.

Thanks

Hallo Ray,
Have you seen The Shiny Ninth: History of 9th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment by Murray Gillings?
It is available from A.C. 'Bert' Maile for £17, and Bert may remember him, so do write. I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear from you.
His Address is:
54 Kirkgate Street,
Walsoken,
Wisbech,
Cambs. PE13 3QZ.
Regards
Jon
