Just trawling through the dustier parts of my favourites list and re-found this:

Quarter of a million in two years in a piece of land 2 and a half by half a mile in two years. Two thousand four hundred a week. You would think a significant memorial would commemorate it. It is probably because it is eclipsed by it's nearness to Leningrad

Just a note that the KV1 is now a runner, as AMVAS informed us here.

They also brought out a T 28 .

That is being used as a memorial I think.

Battles around Leningrad were among the most bloody ones...
I think several millions of our soldiers lays there....
