Great Find Kyt!!! Just been pouring over the cutaway of me favourite airliner the Bristol Brabazon. Beautiful aircraft.

Well considering my favourite Cold War Bomber and Attack Fighter were the B-36 and F-105 respectively you can start to see a pattern! The Brabazon wasnt that ugly!!!!

How can you say the Brabazon's not beautiful? Delightful thing.

(and I'm with GH on the thunderchief too... probably not my favourite but.... phwoarrrr.)

She's not ugly. She just looks like something is missing to me.
She almost appears to me as though the builders had all but finished construction when they realized that the designers had forgotten about the engines, so they found some laying about and stuck them on it.

My old man used to call the Brab "shall I shant I"

In refference to the intakes and props

shall I use the jet engines or the props today.....

Its was a bit of a mystery of a design to me!!!


Now the real McCoy to me was the English Electric Lightning!!! or Avro Vulcan!!!

Real Phoowwoooorrrrr!!!!!!!!

I always enjoy the story of passengers on Concorde watching Lightnings pull up alongside them and then accelerate away!
