![]() | Certainly worth a read, and some good points made. However: "Since 1942 the British Air Force was using a bomber with performance and combat achievements far superior to all other British and American day and night bombers. It was the Mosquito, a bomber designed to survive by using superior speed and agility to avoid being intercepted, instead of carrying gun turrets and gunners to fire back at enemy interceptors. It was also truly capable of precision bombing, unlike all the heavy bombers, which were very inaccurate and therefore relatively ineffective." I doubt very much that the Japanese would have characterized Curtis Lemay's B-29s as inaccurate and ineffective. JT |

![]() | with regards to German women staying at home !!! if Hitler had aloud women to work in the factories.. 1.they would have produced more u-boats, causing the uk to sink 2.produced more aircraft to win the BOB 3.maybe sealion would have gone ahead. 4.produced more tanks for the eastern front. 5.freed more men up to fight on the eastern front. 6. women may have been involved both on the eastern and western front pro-longing the war if it got that far. is there any more they would have done does any one have any thoughts cheers |

![]() | 19th November 1941. Off Carnarvon Western Australia. Australia's nomination for this would have to be the blunder committed by the inexperienced Captain Joseph Burnett when he placed his ship HMAS Sydney along side the German raider Kormoran. Sydney was sunk with all hands. [645] It's resting place has never been found. |
