British camo smock in Italy 1944

In Mailed Fist are two photos from IWM .
NA 16966 & NA 16879.
They show Britsh Infanrty wearing a sleeveless and collarless camo smock, with a type of "Mickey Mouse ear" camo pattern.
Anyone seen these before?
I haven't.
Locally made or issue?
Here's a similar one.

Infantry advance near Arezzo, 16 July 1944. One soldier wears a wide-brimmed straw hat to protect himself from the sun.

Men of 1st Guards Brigade rest beside Route 71 west of Arezzo, 16 July 1944.

No wonder I couldn't find this image, reference number is wrong.
These men are also wearing the same smock.

Is the Camouflage the Italian pattern the Germans liberated'? Looks like it might be, perhaps even cut down Zeltbahns?
