Not an expert, but if IIRC, only three bombs were available. The first was detonated in New Mexico as a test, the remaining two on Japan. Perhaps someone will come along to correct this.

The Germans had not even succeeded in producing a self-sustained chain reaction.

Using a-bomb is so...unhuman and dishonor even cowerdly. Don't get me wrong im not trying to say that US won the war that way ,but today US is fighting to disarm some nations who posses a-bombs ,but i don't remamber other war that was won by someone who used a-bomb.
Thats somekind of confusing to me, i remamber watching a show where one american diplomat was telling us that we are really bad at the gipsys and in some way we are racist. It was a funny by american to say that because, i balive that USA used black people as slaves...

More than a few German scientists left the Reich in the 1930s. How many of these were nuclear scientists I've no idea. Perhaps someone elso can answer that.

One of the leading and most famous nuclear physicists of the day was Niels Bohr, a Dane. He fled occupied Denmark and made his way to the U.S., where he worked on the atomic bomb project at Los Alamos.

P.S. I think I'm safe from the radiation at Alamagordo.

Here's a bit from cyberspace about the topic. Take with a grain of salt, as usual.

mrdowling.com:

" Many of the scientists working at Los Alamos were Jewish refugees from Germany. Edward Teller left Germany for America in 1933. Otto Frisch and Felix Bloch were also German Jews who were instrumental in creating the bomb. Enrico Fermi was married to a Jewish woman. He left Italy at about the same time to escape anti-Semitism. If Jewish scientists had been allowed to stay in Germany, Hitler might have gotten the bomb before America."
