Come on guys I posted a question on here about a year ago just after I joined and no one has answered the question.....

Please hlpe out if you can I can only assume it is something to with cataloging materials for stores or some something silimar

Armies love impenetrable terminology. I spend lots of time ploughing through V.A.O.S. lists (Vocabulary of Army Ordnance Spares) and those are simply standardised lists of components. The name goes back to the 1860s.

Have you been able to find out which Corps or Regiment he served with ? That might give a clue for further investigations.
