Fascinating stuff. Nice to see solid collections not being split up and dispersed.

Museum website:
Warsaw Rising Museum

Trying to find some pictures of the collection; anyone know any Dusseldorf auction houses that may have flogged it? as they usually have online catalogues.

Trincomalee is on a distinguished road
This reminds me ...
About 1959 my father gave us some sheets of wartime German stamps to play with and I think I set about cutting them up . I don't have a clear memory , but I think he said that they were stamps that were put on local official documents .
I remember them as looking like postage stamps with ink stamps of eagles and swastikas over them .

There may be a few mangled examples in a stamp album somewhere in store .

At the time we were living in Luneburg and the British were handing the base back to the Germans . Because of that , there was probably more contact with the local population ; we were living next door to a German family in the last months .
i don't know where my father got these stamps from . He may have been clearing out the BFES school in Luneburg .

Do you think they were / are of any historical interest ?
Should I search for any I might have left ?
