A tricky one

A friend of mine has asked me to research his fathers service during the second world war.....i ask do you know what regiment he was with...no...but he knows he was 8th Army and was wounded in perhaps Italy......no reg number....i have details about the man though...witing to hear back to see if a relative of his has a photo...

but here are his detail.....any help gratefully recieved

Arthur Joseph Ward Born 29 July 1918, Brentford, Twickenham. Middlesex.

Home Address, Bush Hill Cottage, London Road, Winchmore Hill Enfield Middlesex.

Son of Wallace William Ward of the above address.

Died 5 August 1968. Recorded Edmonton & Southgate. Cremated in Enfield Crematorium.

Married Claire Phillips 13 August 1953 St Andrews Parish Church Enfield.

Ok.......i am going to assume that he perhaps joined his county regiment....Middlesex Reg......i think the 1/7th and the 2/7th Batt served in North Africa and Italy......

Hi Donnie

Sorry to say I've given up on ever getting hold of the photo, the guy was full of promises and talk but no action, never heard from him again.

Regards Peter
