I think that after more than sixty years in the ground, time is running out for most of the steel items. It would seem that the work that Philip and others do can help to fill in the details that were perhaps never properly recorded.

Although there are undoubtedly abuses in other parts of the world, the high regard in which the Arnhem drop is held in The Netherlands mean that it's most unlikely there. Human remains have occasionally been recovered. They are treated with extreme reverence and given a proper burial after extensive attempts to identify.

Quite the opposite of 'grave robbing', I would suggest.
