Best site...

for researching the first battle of the war, I have been looking at Encarta and Wikipedia, for the dates between, 01 September 39 to 06 October 39, but was advised probably not the best two places to go for info? I am unsure of the reasons why, but they seem quite detailed? Any ideas?

Ok well the first battle of WW2 concerned the German invasion of Poland.

I am aware of this, the question is... I have been using Wikipedia and encarta as research sites, but was advised they were not the most reliable, can anyone tell me the best sites to find out about the particular dates mentioned, also adding on to this, i finding it hard to find movies, documentaries or books on this date either... any ideas people?

I dont want to waste my time with the said sites if they are not factual,
