Smile Normandy visit

Hello everyone.

My family and the in-laws are driving to Normandy this weekend to visit the beaches and the surrounding museums etc. (in particular Sword beach where my wifes grandfather landed). This is 'take two', as we tried last December but only got as far as Le Havre due to fog, snow and gales! Slept in a French petrol station and came back again. All good fun!!

We are armed with the Major and Mrs Holt's Battlefield Guide (the Somme one was excellent, so I am hoping this one will be too) and a list of places to visit. But I wondered if any of you fine fellows out there, could give me your 'Top 5' list of the best places to visit as our time is unfortunately limited to two days.

It would be much appreciated.

Smile Thanks for your help

Thanks Sapper; you helped my wife out last year on this site, her grandfather was also an engineer, he landed on Day 6; she passes on her thanks again.
We will most certainly pay our respects to the fallen.

Thanks Paul; enjoyed looking at the web-sites, great stuff. Will look out for your book on Normandy (p.s. do forum members get a discount! )
