Remembrance in Schools 2006 - what did yours do?

I wondered if teachers and (grand) parents would like to share with us what happened in connection with Remembrance 2006 at the school where they work or where their (grand) children attend?

At Thetford we had our usual academic conference as well as a service based around the stories of some of the Old Boys.

As many of you will realise I have also posted this thread in another place! But by doing so again here I hope to hear from those who do not visit the Great War Forum.

Tried this thread in the Barracks but perhaps it was the wrong place, so am trying again here.

With best wishes,
David

Posted this elsewhere David, but it fits with your question,

Stood in the school playground today eyeing up the general scarcity of poppies (as you do when you're in 'miserable old ba**ard mode' & such cursory studies feel like logic ) it was lovely when the sprogs came out all sporting them, some two or three!
They'd had a visit from a Legion rep and the school always has a wall display relating to remembrance, last year it was a project covering a particular part of a ww1 battlefield where a segment of the Leicestershire regiment was destroyed Considering my sprog's 5 and the rest of the school's not much older I thought it was a pretty good effort, quite reassuring as so many people glibly say it's not being done. The evidence regarding mine and other friends kids across the country appears to point to quite the contrary.
cheers,
Adam.

Edit: Forgot to add that they all trooped down to the local War memorial on Monday too.

djcrtoye is an unknown quantity at this point
This year I gave my youngest daughter information that I had on her gg uncle who died in ww1. She showed it to her class and the overall impression I got from her that her class mates were moved that some one had a direct connection to the conflict. Also they had their rememberence service in school to honour thre veterens and the dead.
