![]() | stg 44 A while back I posted a request for some help in saving a G98/40 rifle from certain destruction. Sadly to say the rifle is going to be destroyed. Its a shame to because it would have looked nice in my collection. But on a good note, I do have a chance to get a Stg44 or MP44. This was seized many years before I joined the department. Back then the paper work wasnt as strict as it is now so my chances of getting this weapon look good. The weapon is clean with hardly no rust. Its has all the Nazi swasticas and appears to have the original magazine. The only flaw with the weapon is that it has a plug welded into the barrel. But still a nice bit of history. Anyway I thought I would share my excitement with you all. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pretty much the same thing, was named MP as a distraction because Hitler didn't approve of new rifle production, after a stilted politicised development period eventually the weapon was demonstrated to him personally and enough pressure was applied for him to accept it. Sturmgewehr (Stg.) was then chosen as a stronger name to identify a new class of weapon (to the Germans ) |

![]() | The StG44 is a very 'attractive' (if that's the word) weapon, but you can't help but marvel at how cheaply built it is....stamped metal parts.....(wouldn't sell mine for an FG42...well maybe....) ![]() stuart ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Met a chap in Jersey with several 44's, he was a little cagey about their condition but I know they have rather more tolerant Gun laws than we do..... thankfully his Teller mines were fully deactivated ![]()
