Thanks Adam, I've modified my software to output a name (and the initials - which seems to have got lost!). Might be easier to follow now.

Geoff

Geoff, is this extraction of a list with burial places a straightforward matter ? I would like to put one together for 2nd Northamptons to compare with the list in the Battalion history. Interestingly, your engine is coming up with 263 casualties and the book only has 232.

Cheers,

Rich

Rich,

Mostly straightforward, a bit of manual tweaking needed. Here is the list:

Thanks Geoff, that's wonderful. I owe you a beer ! It has saved me hours. My Grandfather always spoke of Anzio in an almost reverential way. When I look at where their casualties fell, I can understand why.

Now I have to re-read the official histories with the list handy.

This is probably a bit cheeky but can your system create a list based on date order ?

Cheers,

Rich.

Damn cheek, we're talking malt whisky here, not beer
I believe I've sorted on service number before, so date should be no problem.
some of the 'between' dates may be a problem but I think there are only a few in this list. - however, a job for tomorrow. (yawn)

Geoff, you're a true Gent, I've got a very decent bottle of Caol Ila open at the moment if you're in Belgium in the near future

Cheers,

Rich

Rich,

Here it is. Looking at the code this morning I see I had already added the feature to sort by number or date - but there was a bug in date sort , so useful for me also.

Thanks once again Geoff. Date order makes the campaigns much clearer. I shall now try to plan a route using the 1940 dates.
