![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From my town. Geoff, Just looked up "Swindon" and got 352 results. I noticed one at Cassino. CWGC :: Casualty Details So I though, if I wanted to find all Swindonians in a particular Cemetery, how would I do that? Or is it not possible. I've just searched for "Upper Stratton" & found even more men than I knew about already. Some weren't on the War memorial at St Philips Church which is all i had to go on at the time. Now have 20 Upper Stratton names. Last edited by Owen; 22-03-2008 at 12:08 AM. |

It is not possible on line since I have no index to burials. I thought about adding this feature but it would be a lot of work (there are thousands of cemeteries and memorials, I've not even counted them all yet). If you have a particular cemetery(s) that you're interested in, I could probably do it easily from here in my hut-six computer room. cheers, Geoff

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok , Geoff. Sorry seem to be asking too much of your search engine. The other thought was would I be able to search for all of a particular unit in a Cemetery. ie all Wiltshires at Anzio, so that would be a "NO" too then? edit. why can't the search engne find "Cemetery:CASSINO WAR CEMETERY" in a casualties detials? There is no cemetery data in the search engine, so it cannot search on this. For the same reason, unit + cemetery cannot be searched. Perhaps in time, this feature can be added? Seems to be 3 from Swindon at Cassino, the other two are: CWGC :: Casualty Details CWGC :: Casualty Details cheers, geoff

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cheers Geoff. I'm slowly going through all 352 and finding many Naval chaps there. I really must spread by reading of WW2 across the services not just the Infantry. Also found a DFC winner with the Pathfinders. As said before, this search engine is bloody great. |

![]() ![]() | When I post a URL link, the forum seems to check the URL and then add a page header - in this case they are all the same!. I've tried to edit these previously and it did not work very well. Must be a way to suppress this? geoff

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Other than by a farly tortuous manual proccess I've not found a way Geoff. As the headings of search results like those are all the same the Vbulletin software will pick 'em all up as the same and post as so, even though the links are different. Cheers, Adam

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Blimey Geoff, thanks! 1078 graves to find! I might need some new printer ink before I print that one off. Another upshoot of finding those Swindon men as there were quite a few in the 4th Norfolks with Army numbers that showed they originally enlisted in the Wilts Regt. They were at Singapore , some died there, others as POWs. Very sad to learn. |
