I think they were taken by American aircraft. One of the pictures seems to show some objects that have had rings drawn around them. Possible targets?

Interesting how the pictures show how the land has been worked in an agricultural way. Seems all fields were worked and planted in strips.

I have forgotten how to do it, however, if you are given the time the photographs were taken, and were to look at the shadows of the trees on the river in pictures 1 and 2 it is possible to work out where North would be on the photographs.

Afraid I can't figure out any of the shadows at all. But then again taken in february that isn't surprising. Seems to be a bit of a misty day.

Yes you can, you just don't know it. If you magnify pictures 1 and 2 and look closely at the river you can see the trees shadows reflected there quite clearly.
