I know we are all here to help, but posts like this do annoy me. There is information all over the place on Adolf which requires just a little searching on Google. This just smacks of laziness.

Apologies for bringing the board down a couple of levels but I have my teacher's hat on this morning.

No I would agree with this. I have no problem helping with ANYONE on any history subject but to ask that sort of question which is very vague and with no defined angle by which to proceed is just making fun of the people here.

Or we have a very naive and immature poster, who has yet to understand the way it works.

The position, I think, is that we will try and help where we can, but we are not going to bother responding to anything so vague and general, so detailed questions please.

I am a history teacher and this definitely looks like somebody wants to get their homework done without having to do the leg work themselves, hence my annoyance.

But you are correct, detailed questions will receive detailed answers.

I agree with all the above. In the time it took for that person to find this forum, they could have found what they needed on Hitler.

I don't mind providing the occasional link, but they have to read the information within and decide for themselves what is important.

Yes, I agree...I already wrote my Master's Thesis. I'm writing my web page on World War II. Be a little more specific. One time when I was in New Zealand, a local kid was doing a project on recycling in Antarctica. I gave him some information and the contact at the civilian contractor who actually did the recycling. He asked me if I could go an interview the guy and get him the story on how they did recycling in Antarctica. I coldly asked the kid how old he was. "Fifteen," he said. "Well, mate, I'm 33, and I got my High School diploma 15 years ago. I don't need to do YOUR term paper today. I'm finished with doing that, and I don't do other peoples' work. That's called plagiarism. What you are going to do is come down here with your notebook and YOU are going to ask our recycling expert the questions about this subject." He was very embarrassed. He and his mother came down the following afternoon, and he did the interview. There are 80,000 web pages on Adolf Hitler, and unfortunately, most of them seem to be of the "The Holocaust didn't happen and lovable Adolf is a misunderstood genius" variety. This kid is writing this paper not because the teacher wants to learn from him about the life of Adolf Hitler, but so that the teacher can see that the kid knows how to do research and can come up with the conclusions the syllabus expects him to have. So he should do his research.
