Ebay item 3909522489 is a WW2 AFS buttonhole badge.

This badge is still in the box of issue, and both the box and the badge itself are numbered.

Is it possible to trace the original owner from the number? In this case the number is: 205341

Theoretically yes as this is the issue number,the problem would be locating where the records of the AFS/NFS are deposited if still in existence,Each badge would have its recorded issuee,to prevent fraudulent wearing of the badge,I suppose the place to make initial enquiries might be the NFB Asson;?
