Cologne Synagogue

I've been researching on the Cologone synagogue lately and have had a very hard time finding information about it. All I know was that it was damaged during Kristallnacht. How was it damaged? Was it lit on fire or just pillaged? Also any WW2 pictures of it would very much be appreciated. Thanks!

Try searching under 'Koln' rather than 'Cologne', it turns up a few more nuggets like this translated order for Kristallnacht demonstrations referring to 'special material' in the Koln Synagogue:

You'll find pictures of it before destruction using the German name too.

I see there were two,

There were two synagogues in Köln --- one on Glockengasse (built in 1861) and a larger one at Roonstrasse 50 (built in 1899).

Both of Köln's synagogues were destroyed on November 9-10, 1938 (Kristallnacht). Synagogues in Koblenz, Polch, Mayen, Sinzig, Niederzissen, Flamersheim and Euskirchen were torched that night. All of Germany's 600 synagogues were gutted with precision by the Gestapo's Storm Troopers and Nazis. Jewish businesses were sacked, property was destroyed and thousands of Jewish homes were raided. The Münstermaifeld synagogue, untouched on November 9, was destroyed by the town's Nazis on the morning of November 10,

Sounds like they totally wrecked the place.
