![]() | I am helping a friend with some research. Her father Driver Harold HAND, 165 Field Ambulance RAMC was serving alongside the 5 Hampshires and 2 Hampshires, Near Faenza, Italy. On the night of 24th November 1944 he won the Military Medal. The Units he was with came under fire and numerous vehicles were hit. Driver Hand rushed out and drove vehicles to safety, put out fires etc and inspired others to assist. The citation is signed personally by HR Alexander, Field Marshall. A lot of research has been completed and a lot of information gained, including a visit to Italy. Does anybody know anything more about this? Thanks Brian |

![]() | I know it's a bit late to be posted, but I'm new to the forum! You could try the Hampshire museum,Winchester. The museum curator was a company commander with the 5th Hampshire's in Italy. 52nd Airborne. Last edited by 52nd Airborne; 17-06-2006 at 10:54 AM. |
