Minturno? what battle

Hi All

Can anyone tell me what battle Minturno was part of as i get confused when reading up on it. I read up on Anzio ,Monte cassino but i cant be sure if i am reading the correct one. not very good with ww2 history sorry.

Minturno stands on a ridge overlooking the Garigliano and was strongly defended by the Germans. The river crossing began on 17th January and there was heavy fighting for some time.

Researching the Garigliano Crossing will give you more information. The Anzio bridgehead further north was the the scene of action during the same period.

It was part of the prelude to the Cassino battles. The town was wrecked in the battle.
